On May 15, 2012, I shared my vision for Baptist Bible College during my inaugural message. I want BBC to become to the world of ministry what Harvard is to business, John Hopkins is to medicine, and Yale is to law. I desire for our institution to be the premier college for training men and women to take the message of the Gospel to the world. I want our pastors, missionaries, worship leaders, youth leaders, teachers, and business professionals to have the best education possible so they are equipped for the great task God has called them to do.
Mike Linch said, “Visions are always birthed from burdens. A great vision always comes about from a burden you have.” We have a great burden at BBC to see lives changed for Christ. From that great burden comes our great vision. We must do whatever is necessary to make this great dream a reality.
Every dollar we spend and every decision we make at BBC, from recruiting new students to teaching current students to enhancing student life, is done with our vision in mind. We are constantly evaluating and reshaping our strategic plan to make sure it aligns with our vision to become the best school for ministry training.
It is a great burden that has led to our great vision. “When your dream is bigger than you are, you only have two choices: give up or get help” (John Maxwell). We will never give up on making our dream a reality, but we cannot do it alone. Would you commit today to help us? A generous supporter has offered to match gifts given up to $250,000. Your gift today will have twice the impact — it will help us to teach more to reach more. Give today at www.gobbc.edu.
