On Monday and Tuesday, August 9 – 10, Friendship Baptist Church of Owasso, OK, and pastor Linzy Slayden hosted the first Oklahoma BBF meeting in nearly two years. The theme of the meeting was “Better not Bitter.” The meeting began on Monday night with dinner at The Spudder Restaurant, the oldest steakhouse in Tulsa.
Tuesday morning included a time for preaching, planning, vision casting, problem-solving, and fellowship. Speakers included Stephen Volante, pastor of Bible Baptist Church of Chickasha, OK, Don and Kathy Mingo of Missionary Care Ministry, and Lonnie and Heather Lehrman, pastor of Granbury Baptist Church of Granbury, TX. BBFI Mission Director, Jon Konnerup, also shared an update on BBFI missions and the upcoming Project 938 Sunday.
Slayden said, “It was such a great meeting with a wonderful attendance. It is so good to be able to meet back together again. There are some great things happening in the Oklahoma Baptist Bible Fellowship. We have a bright future together.”
