Springfield, MO – On October 22-23, 2024, Mission University partnered with the BBFI Mission Office to host the World Mission Forum on its campus. This annual event offered students a distinctive opportunity to connect with missionaries firsthand and explore various pathways to serve through BBFI Missions.
The forum began on Tuesday with an introduction to the World Initiative Network (WIN), an integral BBFI initiative aimed at expanding global outreach. WIN missionaries Keri Kondracki, Elliot Duenow, and Nicko Guyer shared personal accounts of their missionary work and challenged students to consider their own roles in advancing the Gospel worldwide. Complementing these testimonies, BBFI Mission Director Jon Konnerup and Associate Mission Director Brian Garrison outlined BBFI Missions’ vision and highlighted the diverse avenues available for students to get involved in global ministry.
Wednesday’s sessions targeted Mission University students preparing for ministry careers. The day began with an address from Jon Konnerup, who provided an in-depth overview of the BBFI Mission Office, emphasizing its support for missionaries and churches across the globe. Following this, students attended breakout sessions tailored to their interests. Dennis Jennings led a session titled “Missions in the Church,” focusing on incorporating missions into local church ministry, while others engaged in a Q&A panel with BBFI and WIN missionaries, exploring a variety of practical and theological topics. The event concluded with moving testimonials from veteran missionaries Jim Eberhard, Matt Moeller, and Rex Harmon, who shared insights from their years of ministry and collaboration with BBFI Missions.
The World Mission Forum at Mission University reinforced the vital role students can play in fulfilling the Great Commission. The BBFI Mission Office urges continued prayer for these students as they seek to discern God’s call on their lives. Pray that many will commit to partnering with BBFI Missions and WIN, dedicating themselves to spreading the Gospel to every nation and every people.
This event stands as a testament to the ongoing efforts of BBFI Missions and Mission University to inspire and equip the next generation of Gospel laborers, united in their mission to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
