Box Elder, SD – Mercy Gate Church, pastored by recent Mission University graduate Andy Daniel, is gearing up to serve as one of the two local hosts for the September 2024 BBFI National Fellowship Meeting. The second local host is Connection Church in Sturgis, SD, pastored by Matt Price. Both Daniel and Price are APEX and BBFI-approved church planters. Mercy Gate Church, established in May 2021, and Connection Church, founded in April 2016, are diligently preparing for the influx of guests this fall.
In anticipation of the event, Mercy Gate Church has recently undergone significant improvements, including a complete exterior repaint and an expansion of its parking lot, funded by generous donations totaling $20,000. The church also regularly utilizes its fleet of four vehicles, affectionately named the Gospel Fleet, consisting of three vans and one small bus dubbed Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
These enhancements coincide with a period of notable growth for Mercy Gate Church. Since May, the church has celebrated 34 salvations, 19 baptisms, 17 rededications, and the two men dedicating their lives to full-time vocational ministry. Due to this growth, the church is considering adding a second worship service.
The 2024 September BBFI National Fellowship Meeting will be held at The Box Event Center in Box Elder, with some meetings and a food truck fellowship taking place at Mercy Gate Church. The Annual Meeting of the Baptist Bible Fellowship is scheduled for September 16-18, 2024, in Rapid City, SD, with the Wednesday evening service to be held at the amphitheater at Mount Rushmore.
