To launch new Masterclass Certificates, Louisiana Baptist University hosted subject-matter experts in Counseling, Missions, Leadership, and Apologetics for a week of content development. The MasterClass Professor Week brought together content providers in a collaborative setting to enhance the delivery of and material for LBU’s MasterClass programs. The synergy, conversations, and sharing of concepts have elevated the academic content of these programs.
The professors concentrated their work during the week on how best to train and equip students and provide academic content that can be used as a starting point for a degree or as continuing education units. The goal for each MasterClass is to “Learn from experienced practitioners, not just theorists!” Some of the experienced practitioners include Tarl Reeves (England), Ian Richards (Guam), Greg Baxter (Counseling), Don Mingo (Missionary 2 Missionary Care), Tim Downs (Africa), Keith Gandy (Europe), Brian Weed (Latin America), and Greg Lyons (Asia).
The gathering of these experts shows once again that LBU brings the real world to the classroom. Missionary Don Mingo said of the week, “It was an opportunity to pour our life experiences into the classroom so that students can receive maximum benefit from taking the classes.”
