- Where did you grow up? What is your favorite childhood memory?
I was born in Illinois, but spent most of my life growing up in the Tulsa, OK area.
My favorite childhood memories involve vacations to Arkansas and Illinois to spend time with family. We’d load up the station wagon and settle in for a long road trip! - When/where did you get saved? When/where did you surrender to ministry?
I got saved when I was 13 years old in the living room of our home next to the church where my dad was on staff.
I attended BBC for one year and then came home for the next year to attend community college. It was during that year, at a missions conference, that I surrendered to ministry and went back to BBC. - When/where did you go to Bible college? What is your favorite college memory.
I graduated from BBC in Springfield, MO in 1999 and finished my masters degree from BBC as well.
My favorite college memories involve dorm life, playing basketball for the Patriots, and of course meeting my beautiful wife!! - Prior to your current church, where have you served in ministry? (What role at each place?)
Youth Pastor, Louisville Baptist Temple – Louisville,OH
Campus Pastor, Baptist Bible College – Springfield, MO - Where do you currently serve? (How long, ministry roles, etc.)
I am the pastor at Second Baptist Church in Midland, TX. Our family has been here for 4 years. - Share about your family?
My wife, Kristy, and I have been married for 19 years and she is an incredible wife, mom, and leader.
Isak, our 16 yr. old son, will be a junior this year and plays snare on the drum line at school. He also serves on the media team in both the student services and main services.
Alee, our 13 year old daughter, will be an 8th grader and is a cheerleader and loves to serve in SBC kids.
We are so proud of our kids and thankful that they have a heart to want to help people know and follow Jesus. - Where is your favorite place to vacation?
Anywhere there is a beach! - What are your favorite hobbies?
I like to get a good work out in, golf, play basketball, read, and hang out with my family. - What is your all-time favorite book (other than the Bible)? Favorite book read within the past year?
Replenish by Lance Witt – this book challenged me personally like few other books have
Church Unique by Will Mancini – we read this as a staff, it forced us to ask ourselves tough questions and dig into what makes our church unique; it also gave us a good framework to verbalize vision. - What has God taught you recently?
I am learning more and more that I desperately need more of God to be the best person, husband, father, pastor, and community leader that makes an eternal difference.
God is also teaching me that bold vision honors Him. I’m reminded that most of the time I don’t dream big enough.
