Mercy Gate Church of Rapid City, South Dakota launched on March 17, 2019. Since then, they have seen over 100 salvations in their church. The vision of Mercy Gate Church from its inception has been to “see our city and the surrounding area radically changed by the Gospel. We aim to plant churches that plant churches in the state of South Dakota and the surrounding regions.” On Sunday night, August 15, 2021, they began the process of planting their first church out of their own church plant.
Andy Daniel, a 2021 graduate of Baptist Bible College, moved to Rapid City, SD to serve as a church planting resident with Mercy Gate Church. He will be the pastor of their first church plant in the neighboring town of Box Elder, SD. After weeks of door-knocking and hosting multiple block parties, they opened their home to a Bible study on August 15 with 30 in attendance. The following week they hosted their second Bible study. Daniel states, “Best of all, we had two people confess and turn from their sin.”
Mercy Gate Church of Box Elder, SD is planning to officially launch in February 2022. Both Keneth Brock and Andy Daniel are BBFI-approved church planters. To see more BBFI-approved church planters, click here.
