I want to thank everyone who attended the BBFI National meeting personally. I hope we sent you away encouraged about “Why?” we do what we do. There was an overwhelming response, with 700+ ministry workers in attendance. Our first night brought encouragement from veteran pastor Jim Baize of First Baptist of Coronado, CA. We were challenged Tuesday morning by our special speakers; one of our own missionary couples sent from Park Crest (a Creative Access Missionary), Grant Staubs of Mid-Way Baptist in Raleigh, NC, and ladies’ speaker, Erin Davis from the ministry The Deep Well. That afternoon, breakout sessions were designed by our staff for those serving in nearly every facet of church ministry. Our Tuesday evening ended with lessons learned from the life of John the Baptist by Timothy Ateek of Watermark Church in Dallas, TX.
As always, on Wednesday morning, we enjoyed the approval of new missionaries, a stirring video about Laverne Rogers, a missionary to Japan, and a reminder of the Project 938 emphasis on praying for the Lord to bring forth more laborers from our churches and ministries.
I appreciate Mark Milioni, president of Baptist Bible College, allowing the students at BBC to join us in each of the morning sessions and giving us the opportunity to introduce them to a closer look at the BBFI in action. I know we all desire to see the movement grow and increase by the young men and women who will soon begin ministries of their own.
The conference was a great reminder to me, and I hope to you as well that we are not in this fight alone. We, of course, have God by our side, but also the ability to lock arms with one another to see the gospel move forward around the world. All in all, it was a joy to host you, and Park Crest has counted this experience as a wonderful opportunity to serve. May God continue to confirm our callings and use us greatly for His Kingdom.
