Recently, I traveled to New England to attend the graduation ceremony of Boston Baptist College held on Wednesday, May 22. I was truly blessed to attend the Senior Appreciation Banquet held at the college Tuesday evening, May 21. The graduates were honored for academic and student life achievements. I noticed two remarkable things. First, the students of Boston Baptist are genuinely sharp. It was clear they completed a rigorous program that demanded their best effort. In a word, these students delivered. Second, there is a close-knit family atmosphere at Boston Baptist. There seemed to be a genuine and strong affection between the students, faculty, and administration. I sensed the graduates were deeply grateful to their instructors. Likewise, the professors possessed a godly pride in the accomplishments of the students.
The graduation on Wednesday afternoon was held at the historic Faneuil Hall in downtown Boston. A bit of fanfare and a rousing commencement address by Herbert Lusk preceded the awarding of four associate and sixteen bachelor’s degrees. Again, I was impressed by the sense of connection within the Boston Baptist College family. The clear comradery among many of the local pastors in the Boston area is also a healthy sign for this school and even our fellowship.
Boston Baptist College is worthy of our prayer and financial support. Our movement is fortunate to have a school so strategically located. It sits in one of the great academic cities of the world. People from every corner of the planet come to Boston to pursue educational opportunities, and it should be our prayer they connect with a gospel bearing believer. A vibrant college and strong area churches make that much more likely.
I look forward to hearing blessed reports from Boston Baptist and its graduates.
Ditto!
