Beacon Baptist Church in Taylor, MI, hosted a men’s conference November 10-11, 2023, with guests from churches across the region. Churches were invited from Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. The theme of the conference was “Valor,” based on II Timothy 1:7. One of the conference organizers, Jared Barringer, shared, “This conference was created out of a burden and desire to see men in our area step up to be the leaders God has called them to be.”

The keynote speaker for the conference was Daniel DeWitt. DeWitt serves as a Senior Fellow at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO, where he leads the Center for Faith and Culture. Dove Award-winning recording artist Kellan Monroe was the guest worship leader. Breakout sessions were taught by Adam Reilly (Husband, Dad, and Disciple-Maker), Adam Pew (Career and Work: Living out God’s Calling), Joey Candillo (Overcoming Temptation and Sin), and David Melton (Our Identity in Christ).
The alters were full with individuals praying and pastors praying with the men from their churches. Beacon Baptist Church pastor John Reilly shared, “Our Valor Men’s Conference was more than I ever expected. What a blessing to see men serious about connecting with God. I can’t wait until we can do it again!”
